The Origin
The immense power of the infinitesimal

At Luxbiotech, every new day represents an opportunity to fulfil our mission:

  • to reveal the full potential of micro-organisms
  • extract the purest possible bioactives and nutrients
  • to continue developing and producing high-quality products without negative environment impact

Microalgae
At the origins of life and our products

Talking about microalgae is to talk about the origin of life. They are the first living beings, unicellular and nucleus-free, present in the planet’s water for 3.5 billion years. Slowly and silently, they have contributed to the creation of the atmosphere and are therefore the activators of life as we know it today.

One of the feats of these photosynthetic organisms is that they need sunlight and CO2 to multiply, and oxygen is the waste product of this process that they release into the atmosphere. Another feat is that microalgae are creators of exceptional nutrients and bioactives, at the base of the food chain.

This is why we’ve chosen them as the raw material to respectfully extract their highly beneficial and well-guarded treasures. This opens extraordinary prospects for innovation in the face of the climatic and environmental challenges we face.

Revealing the benefits of microalgae
while preserving their original environment

Although microalgae originate in the depths of the aquatic ecosystem, Luxbiotech does not extract them from there.

The microalgae we use to develop our range of products are grown in what are called photobioreactors.

These sophisticated, closed systems enable us to recreate the natural conditions of the environments in which they grow and use sunlight to promote the healthy development of microalgae, in a controlled and safe manner.

Thanks to photobioreactors, we can offer you the purest quality.

Aphanizomenon flos-aquae

The therapeutic properties of AFA, linked to its high concentration of bioactives, have been recognized by numerous scientific studies, highlighting its cell regeneration properties.

At Luxbiotech, we wanted to study in depth the essential parameters of its growth, to guarantee respectful and sustainable production in photobioreactors.

Our AFA’s production process is therefore a global innovation. This has allowed us to develop a highly bioactive AFA extract.

With Aphani Extract, we make the benefits of AFA for cell regeneration available to as many people as possible.

Spirulina Platensis

At the heart of the famous spirulina lies a little-known treasure: phycocyanin, a cobalt-blue pigment of inestimable power. It has exceptional antioxidant properties, helping to neutralise free radicals and boost the immune system. Our extraction process highlights our commitment to the purity and quality of the bioactive ingredient, excluding the use of chemical agents at every stage.

This technological feat has allowed us to develop Phyani, our phycocyanin-based dietary supplement, of exceptional purity and with a concentration of 30 grams per litre, one of the highest on the market.

Schizochytrium sp.

Located at the base of the food chain, this marine microalgae is a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids. It is thanks to the consumption of this microalgae that krill and fish themselves become rich in omega-3, whereas they were not originally.

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for humans, and the only way we can obtain them is through our diet or food supplements. In the past, we mistakenly thought that fish was a good answer to our need for omega-3s. That’s why much of today’s intensive fishing is used to produce fish oils for omega-3 supplements.

At Luxbiotech, we saw an exceptional opportunity to develop a sustainable omega-3 dietary supplement with no negative impact on marine life. We developed Orhium, our dietary supplement based on the natural oil of Schizochytrium sp.

Porphyridium Cruentum

Protected for billions of years by an impenetrable natural defence system, this red microalgae has thrived for billions of years in hostile environments such as the oceans.

Porphyridium Cruentum has the ability to create a protective barrier when environmental conditions deteriorate, by forming unique sulphated polysaccarides (SPS).

The sulphated polysaccharide excreted by this microalga has exceptional skin care properties: it moisturises, soothes and protects against the environmental aggressions our skin can suffer.

It was the formation of this sulphated polysaccharide that particularly interested the Luxbiotech team. We then developed SPS 99, a serum 99% of whose formula is made up of bioactive SPS.
